Windows Executable Installer

We offer a self-extracting installer program if you use MS-Windows (95, 98, NT, 2000, XP). The hole application and the installation-routine are contained in, which starts after unpacking automatically.

For executing Composum you need a Java runtime environment, version 1.3 or higher. If it exists, you can download Composum using this link and install afterward:

composum-2.0-install.exe

If no according Java runtime environment exists, you can download an extended version of the installation-program with an integrated Java installer via following link and execute afterward:

composum-2.0-and-jre-install.exe

Zip Archive

You can download Composum 2.0 as a Zip archive. You can use it for all systems. You can unpack this version into any directory and install from there, because the archive contains the installation program, or directly execute.

Java Web Start

Composum is available through 'Java Web Start' to launch the application directly from the web. So you always work with the most current version; all actualizations take place automatically.

The installation take place through WebStart locally. Composum can be launched after installing stand-alone. To use this type of installation, you need to install WebStart with the Java runtime environment (JRE), version 1.3 or higher, on your system.
 

Step 1: Java Web Start

If 'Java Web Start' is already installed, you can skip this step and install and use Composum with step 2.

Otherwise 'Java Web Start' is available at no charge at Sun Microsystems:

Step 2: installing Composum

If Java Web Start including the runtime environment is installed, you can directly install and launch Composum using the following link (signature):

If a Java runtime environment is installed, you can copy the following versions of Composum directly onto your computer system, unpack the file and use the application:

Adjustment

After unpacking respectively after installing through the included executables (Windows) or script files (UNIX), the application should be executable from the installing directory (./bin). Perhaps an adjustment to your system or to your Java installation may be necessary.

In case of executing through a script, the path to the using Java runtime environment of the environment variable JAVA_HOME possibly has to adjust manual.

Java runtime environment

If no Java runtime environment is installed (Java runtime environment - JRE or Java development kit - JDK), you can install it separately in a first step. In this case you can find the current version at Sun Microsystems:
